Originally built in the 1930’s emerging from the International Style that made its way into Minneapolis thanks to visionary clients and a young architect, newly graduated from the University of Minnesota with a passion for the new “modern architecture” The current owners had purchased the home in 2001, immediately falling in love with style and appeal of living lakeside. As the family began to grow they found themselves running out of space and wanted to find a creative way to add some functional space while still not taking away from the original International Style of the home. They turned to the team of Streeter & Associates and Peterssen/Keller Architecture to transform the home into something that would function better for the growing family. The team went to work by adding a third story addition that would include a master suite, sitting room, closet, and master bathroom. While the main level received a smaller addition that would include a guest suite and bathroom. A primary bathroom with transitional architecture, wainscot paneling, a fresh rose paint color and a new freestanding tub and black shower door are a feast for the eyes.

Located in high Rocky Mountains in Eagle, Colorado. This was a DIY project that consisted of designing and renovating our 2nd floor bonus room into a home office that has the industrial look. I built this custom L-shaped iron pipe desk using antique lockers baskets and crates as the drawers. The ceiling is reclaimed (Colorado) pine beetle wood, the floor is the Reclaimed Series, Heathered Oak color by Quickstep flooring.

Cast Glass doors add character and absolutely make an impression. The texture and design of frosted glass or cast glass doors can be dramatic or simple - both options can still provide the desired privacy. Featured texture is "Almost Clear" on low iron glass with a frosted finish.

In our world of kitchen design, it’s lovely to see all the varieties of styles come to life. From traditional to modern, and everything in between, we love to design a broad spectrum. Here, we present a two-tone modern kitchen that has used materials in a fresh and eye-catching way. With a mix of finishes, it blends perfectly together to create a space that flows and is the pulsating heart of the home. With the main cooking island and gorgeous prep wall, the cook has plenty of space to work. The second island is perfect for seating – the three materials interacting seamlessly, we have the main white material covering the cabinets, a short grey table for the kids, and a taller walnut top for adults to sit and stand while sipping some wine! I mean, who wouldn’t want to spend time in this kitchen?! Cabinetry With a tuxedo trend look, we used Cabico Elmwood New Haven door style, walnut vertical grain in a natural matte finish. The white cabinets over the sink are the Ventura MDF door in a White Diamond Gloss finish. Countertops The white counters on the perimeter and on both islands are from Caesarstone in a Frosty Carrina finish, and the added bar on the second countertop is a custom walnut top (made by the homeowner!) with a shorter seated table made from Caesarstone’s Raw Concrete. Backsplash The stone is from Marble Systems from the Mod Glam Collection, Blocks – Glacier honed, in Snow White polished finish, and added Brass. Fixtures A Blanco Precis Silgranit Cascade Super Single Bowl Kitchen Sink in White works perfect with the counters. A Waterstone transitional pulldown faucet in New Bronze is complemented by matching water dispenser, soap dispenser, and air switch. The cabinet hardware is from Emtek – their Trinity pulls in brass. Appliances The cooktop, oven, steam oven and dishwasher are all from Miele. The dishwashers are paneled with cabinetry material (left/right of the sink) and integrate seamlessly Refrigerator and Freezer columns are from SubZero and we kept the stainless look to break up the walnut some. The microwave is a counter sitting Panasonic with a custom wood trim (made by Cabico) and the vent hood is from Zephyr.

Retro kitchen with contrasting cabinet and stainless steel appliances. A complete restoration and addition bump up to this row house in Washington, DC. has left it simply gorgeous. When we started there were studs and sub floors. This is a project that we're delighted with the turnout.

This roof garden design in Manhattan's West Village features a custom-built wood deck with matching planters made out of ipe, a hardwood with a 30-year life expectancy. We used very thin wood planks on the planter facades for a very contemporary effect. We also planted bamboo on one side to provide some much needed privacy from a neighboring terrace. Floating wood and smooth stucco entry wall with stainless mounted address numbers. Decorative gravel in custom modular concrete pads. Contemporary wood bench. Dry stream bed with natural river rock boulders offsets the tight geometry of the entry. Xeriscape drought tolerant landscape plants with succulents, native grasses and shrubs. Plants include Kangaroo Paw, Agave Attenuata, Coleonema 'Sunset', Agave 'Blue Glow', Pennisetum 'Fireworks', Cercidium 'Desert Museum', Salvia Gregii, Escallonia Fradesii, Festuca Glauca, and several varieties of Echeveria. The dining room is to the right of the front door when you enter the home. We designed the trim detail on the ceiling, along with the layout and trim profile of the wainscoting throughout the foyer. The walls are covered in blue grass cloth wallpaper and the arched windows are framed by gorgeous coral faux silk drapery panels.
